CLINICAL SUPERVISION

HEATHER THOMASSON,
LPC-MHSP, PMH-C

Heather offers clinical supervision for therapists working towards their LPC-MHSP in Tennessee. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Child and Family Studies from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2011; as well as a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Memphis in 2014.  She has been a LPC-MHSP in state of Tennessee since 2016 and a PMH-C since 2021.  

Heather completed her practicum through the Exchange Club Family Center of Memphis, where she worked with women and children who experienced domestic violence as well as facilitated anger management groups for men.  She completed her first internship through La Paloma IOP where she led groups for both substance abuse and mental health programs. Heather completed her second internship at Youth Villages Boys Center for Intensive Residential Treatment where she led ART groups and completed both individual and family therapy sessions for high-risk youth. Heather tends to lean towards the following therapeutic approaches: cognitive behavior therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness practices, holistic expressive art therapy and person-centered therapy.

Heather has over 13 years of working in the mental health field with children, adolescents, and adults, working at all levels of care including psychiatric hospitalization, intensive residential treatment, IOP, outpatient and community-based programs. Heather is trained in EMDR, Certified in TF-CBT and certified as a Perinatal Mental Health Counselor. She utilizes a highly compassionate, person-centered approach in both therapy and supervision.

Heather has limited slots for individual supervision for $85 per hour with weekday availability at this time. Individual supervision can take place in-person at our East Memphis office or virtually. She also offers a virtual and biweekly clinical supervision group on Saturdays at 9:00am for $50 per hour.
